Student Clubs, Organizations, and Greek Life

Be uniquely you at UB

University of Bridgeport is committed to enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in all facets of community life. We offer a wide variety of student clubs and organizations. With so many options, there is something for everyone no matter your interest, passion, or lifestyle.

Multicultural Affairs

Multicultural Affairs offers co-curricular and extra-curricular educational programs, resources, training, and services that foster a positive climate for diversity and support the retention of underrepresented students.

Gender Sexuality Awareness (GSA) Club

The GSA Club has a mission of providing a safe haven at UB for students and staff who are members of the LGBTQ+ community, along with their allies. The club aims to promote campus-wide discussions of straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender progress to equality. Members of the club coordinate and orchestrate on-campus events, activities, and demonstrations that align with the mission and values of the organization.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council

The DEI Council is chaired by the director of Multicultural Affairs and comprises key University stakeholders. The committee’s charge is to develop and lead efforts to ensure that the University’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is realized.

Center for Religious and Spiritual Life

The Center for Religious and Spiritual Life coordinates religious programming and serves the spiritual needs of the UB community. Clergy and ministers from major religious denominations provide opportunities for worship, spiritual direction and counseling, and programs which enable students, faculty, and staff to nurture and integrate their spiritual lives. The Center for Religious and Spiritual Life is open to people of all religious traditions, as well as those with no religious or spiritual tradition.

Annual International Festival

Every year, a committee of staff and students from departments across campus host a week-long series of events that highlight and celebrate the diversity of our student body. With students from almost 90 different countries, our campus is a true melting pot of culture!

Greek Life

Additionally, UB offers Greek Life as part of our student life on campus. We have multiple options for active Greek organizations on campus at UB as well as the Greek Council, which governs and supports the fraternities and sororities. Greek organizations host a variety of events on campus including educational workshops, cultural events, performances, and community service activities.

University of Bridgeport’s student body is full of different cultures, talents, and unique individuals. Our campus does truly feel like its own community and family, and everyone has been very welcoming of new friends.
